Jake achieved his USRC BST (Breed Suitability Test) with his previous owner. Following are the critique and the character ratings from his BST, done in April 1996 under Judge Hans Bierwolf at the USRC Southwest Regional Sieger Show and BST.

Critique

Eyes 3B. Medium size, well built, strong head, stop could be a bit more, full scissor bite, very good mouth pigment. Correct ears, strong neck, a bit throaty. Good top and bottom lines. Good chest proportion. Good bone, strong muscles. Elbows should be a bit more closed. Correct paws and nails. Correct angulation. A little soft pasterns. Very good coat, very good markings. Rear feet turn out a bit. Attentive, good temperament. Very good gait, covers ground well.
